A New Obox. Part 1.

Since early this year we have been mentioning via our blog and online show that we are busy creating a new site for Obox.

Today we would like to divulge ever so slightly and have included the rudest sneak peak image ever.

Some broad details

We feel that because our current site is too dark and 'hardcore' it has an intimidating feel to it which we would like to get rid of.

Another aim is to get some of you to return to the site just to have a look, even if that means that you are not buying a theme from us we want you to be inspired.

Obox new look previewThis can always risky as there can be a tendency to follow trends so, to avoid such a horror story we are making it a mission to source our inspiration from offline design. This includes television, the iPhone, video games and anything else which catches our eye when looking around.

In terms of UI it will be a total revamp of what you experience at the moment on Obox. We are looking at different ways for you to manage your shopping carts, add favourites, leave comments and post ratings. On this side of the project we will be looking online and plan on running a few test as well.

This will truly be a ground up re do of our site and we are honestly hoping to set the example when it comes to theme sites.

To get a genuine idea of what to expect in terms of design we suggest you subscribe to our newsletter for one month. The January newsletter will be based off our new design.

Thanks guys. We spent most of the holidays just discussing the design and functionality, this will be a massive redesign but the excitement is difficult to contain.

@PTC, no one has wanted to change the current design more than us. It was always a compromise just so we could get the themes out as soon as possible.
